Well, after a long wait the story continues, and at a pretty brisk pace at that, since we enter a little song montage. Writing a song for this comic was in my plans since the beginning, although at times I wasn’t sure if I was going to actually make it, but here we are. Originally I was going for very conventional lyrics, which would fit for a ballad maybe, but I wasn’t happy with it, so at some point I rewrote it. The idea with the chorus is that the end of each line rhymes with the start of the next line. I got the idea from a certain song. I guess if you were to actually fit these to a melody, you’d need to do some fixing to make it flow better.
The last panels with Applejack jumping on the rope bridge is another part very much inspired by my holidays with my parents. Whenever we were at some high place like a balcony or a bridge, my father had this habit to do a few stomps as if to see if the structure would collapse - with the reaction from my mother being something of a cross between low-key terror and embarrassment.
