Xiaomi Unveils 15 Series in global market. India launch soon? Here's what we know so far

Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone lineup — the Xiaomi 15 Series — at an exclusive launch event in Barcelona, Spain. Featuring Leica Summilux optical lenses and powered by Xiaomi HyperOS 2, the Xiaomi 15 Series delivers a next-generation smartphone experience with advanced AI capabilities, according to the official release.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Display 

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440, a 522 ppi pixel density, and a peak brightness of 3200 nits. It also includes a 1Hz Always-Active Display. The device is equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, providing fast, reliable unlocking even with wet or dirty fingers, a CNC-crafted aluminum frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Built for durability, the Xiaomi Guardian Structure integrates Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0, improving drop resistance by up to 16 times, said the company.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Camera  

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra boasts an industry-leading 23mm Leica 1-inch main camera, equipped with a 50MP Sony LYT-900 image sensor. Paired with a Leica Summilux optical lens, it features a large ƒ/1.63 aperture and an impressive 14EV high dynamic range.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Videography  

According to the company, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is designed to push the boundaries of videography, allowing users to enjoy exceptional cinematic slow-motion videography. Both the main and periscope telephoto cameras can shoot 4K video at 120fps.

To complement this flagship, Xiaomi introduces the Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit Legend Edition, featuring a classic camera-inspired design, a 67mm filter adapter ring, detachable thumb support and shutter buttons, and an integrated 2000mAh battery for extended usability.

Xiaomi 15: Display  

The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3200 nits and a 94 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The device is available in Black, White, and Green in international markets.

Xiaomi 15: Camera  

The Xiaomi 15 boasts a versatile triple-camera system. Its main camera features a Leica Summilux optical lens with a 7P aspherical high-transmittance element and an anti-glare coating, along with a large ƒ/1.62 aperture. For detailed telephoto shots, it is equipped with a Leica 60mm floating telephoto camera that utilizes a 50MP sensor. Additionally, the device features a Leica 14mm ultra-wide camera with a 50MP resolution and a large ƒ/2.2 aperture.

Xiaomi 15: Videography  

For videography, the Xiaomi 15 offers 8K recording at 30fps and Dolby Vision 4K at 60fps. A 4-mic array delivers immersive audio, ensuring every video capture has professional-grade sound, the company added.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra & Xiaomi 15: Battery & Other Details 

Both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform.  

Regarding battery and charging, both devices utilise the Xiaomi Surge Battery Management System. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra houses a 5410mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge and 80W wireless HyperCharge support. The Xiaomi 15 features a 5240mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra & Xiaomi 15: India Launch 

According to sources, the Xiaomi 15 Series is expected to launch in India in the second week of March. However, the company has yet to confirm the exact date at the time of publishing this report.
