And I’m pretty sure that despising pecuniary reward would mean you get paid, you just don’t accept rewards for, say, returning somebody’s wallet or saving them from drowning. That all too easily leads into “tips” and then outright bribes.
It’s probably not intended for the field of combat, but more for one-on-one quarrels.
But we all know no knight actually followed it. At least, none of the successful ones.
So basically Celestia doesn’t pay them?
Also this is so stupid for any military.
Never lying is self explanatory, it even tells you specifically to do it at all times.
The no unfairness means they will give up any advantage to equalize forces with the enemy.
Soldiers don’t do challenges, they kill you by any means necessary.
Pecuniary means having to do with money.
