What would the Diamond dogs be in this universe? My vote goes for cats.

Those “losers” have the closest thing to a mining company, complete with tunnels, tracks for carts, guards, etc, and their pockets are stuffed with gems, most of which they got by digging themselves. Their only downside, is their greed, which caused them to kidnap rarity in the first place. And guess what? They still have the mine and all of their equipment. They are still in business.
