You love falling back on the cliche as if it proves anything or is at all accurate.
 
Haters claim things like the characters are one-dimensional (how you can tell this with the tiny amount of info we have available I don’t know), “Brad” will absolutely be X love interest cliche (we’ve heard one line and seen a few seconds that don’t tell us anything about how popular he is or what his personality is like), and Sunset Shimmer is just a generic bitch that only cares about being the popular one or crowned the prom queen (she appears to fit the mold but we literally know nothing about her intentions).
 
There have been comparisons to Dragonball Evolution. This is totally different because it’s not a reboot that completely changes everything about the characters and universe and its mythos.
 
You have on multiple occasions referred to Equestria Girls as containing vapid high school drama, yet there’s no proof that a significant amount of focus will be spent on drama, or that whatever amount of said drama it will be vapid. You’re only making that assumption. If anything, since Twilight does not belong in that world and most likely will return to her own world (unless it is indeed non-canon, in which case… it could turn into a creative free-for-all), whatever drama does pop up will be atypical of the genre.
 
Doesn’t look like it’s worth your money or time? Fair. Doesn’t look like it’s worth other peoples’ money or time? Also fair as long as you make your point. Making strangely specific claims about the quality of the finished product based on assumptions? Needs to stop.

No matter what, it will be full of cliches.

Well i do not hate her. Just the design(at whole is severely lacking.) and the base theme(high school never excited me that much. I prefer most of the non high school moment of al so called high school themed shows. anything that goes on the crazy wild insane side, but still is kind of boring setting). And i don’t like that spike is becoming a dog. So fucking much for the “little brother” thing…

There’s a lot going against it right out the gate based mostly on bad design choices and a storyline that, on paper, sounds fairly run-of-the-mill and amateurish. This situation has been milked to death by both fan fiction and fan art, but to see it executed on a studio level in a way that looks far worse than most fan work is a bit disheartening.
 
I’ll still give it a fair shake, but I’m not going to the theaters to watch it, and I’ll wait for proper reviews before actually putting money down on it.

Except you don’t know the plot beyond a two-paragraph summary and a two-minute trailer.
 
We know the setup and the basic premise, but we don’t know what the overall story will be, how it will be executed, or how the characters will interact with each other.

Then again if you were worried about Game of Thrones not being as popular as it should be, you don’t retool the show to be set in present day suburbia over quarraling neighbors.

And it’s not like high fantasy isn’t doing good right now. Look at The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

There were 727 movies released in 2012. I watched maybe 3 or 4 of them. Some of those movies that I didn’t watch I actually legitimately wanted to see, and just didn’t have time.

I still don’t get after all the world building of the past few seasons (which was a lot of the appeal of the show) that it’s being substituted for a generic high school setting. It just seems like a missed opportunity just to target an audience that wasn’t interested in ponies in the first place.
 

 
Then again, I think any environment that has anyone other than Rarity as the most popular person is stretching credibility. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as a high school setting can be lampooned pretty well, but I get the nasty feeling they’re just going to play this one straight.

Why does everyone think we hate Twilight?  
I didn’t hate her when they made her an alicorn, I hated that they made her an alicorn… The fact that I got over that notwithstanding.  
I don’t hate her now, either.

Well, it’s not that I hate Twilight Sparkle from EG, but from what I’ve seen she won’t be anything like the adorkable characher of the show.
 
And it’s the whole film, actually, that looks like it’s gonna be a terribly steretypical high school story. We don’t really need that.

That’s true but people can still have an opinion about with without seeing it, but to judge it to be crap without seeing it, what a good number people hating it are doing, is stupid.  
But the two are not the same.

At least it’s better to actually know it’s bad than to believe it’s bad cause you manage to find small bits of it that combined together, doesn’t even make half of the movie.

The major difference is that most of the haters take a massive leap from “it looks like crap” to “it IS crap.”
