Also I don’t get why some think badly of the cameos in it, maybe some are in it because they are fans of Sonic.  
If that makes it wrong then why make the fan film at all if fans can’t that and known for other things can’t be in it.

It wasn’t really ment to be “perfect,” or some kinda “Oscar-winning epic,” it’s just a fan film. Given their limited resources, (and budget) I thought it was decent overall. I didn’t think the CGI was that bad, the robots & badniks looked pretty cool, and had nice redesigns. (I especially liked the classic buzzbombers.)  
I also wasn’t bothered by the G.U.N. soldiers. I don’t get why people are so opposed to having other human characters in the series besides Robotnik/Eggman. (Unless they’re like that Chris kid in “Sonic X” who pretty much stole the spotlight from Sonic, or having human princesses smooch him. That was just weird.)
 
And honestly, I’ve seen worse…
 
Maybe if you guys tried to make your own “better” Sonic fan film, or MLP fan-episode, then maybe you’d see it’s not so easy to make such a huge project, and make it “perfect.”

I watched the Retsupurae take on the Sonic fan film, and even with Chip and Ironicus’s commentary I couldn’t stop thinking “this is the stupidest shit ever”.
 
It was kinda cool to hear Jaleel White voicing Sonic again, but other than that it was just 22 minutes of mediocre CGI (Sonic jumps out of the letterboxing at one point), human characters no one cares about, pointless cameos, and doomed-from-the-start attempts to make a story about a blue cartoon hedgehog fighting cartoonish robots and over-the-top villains seem epic and dark.

Shouldn’t that be the other way around?

I liked the unexpected cameo at the end personally.

Ha, that was weird, I know from the comics he has them(one less then others even) but his gloves don’t have them separated.

I enjoyed both actually, funny how both fanbases seemed to hate them. (Though, they do seem to have alot of “likes” on Youtube, regardless.)
 
It was also kinda cool they got Sonic’s original voice actor (Jaleel “Urkel” White) to voice Sonic. I also liked the subtle joke/shot Sonic made about Sonic ‘06.  
Also, surprisingly, regardless of the mixed-opinions from fans, (Sonic fans are impossibly to please anyways) Yuji Naka the former head of Sonic Team saw it, and said he loved the fan-film.

I felt Robotnik should’ve been a li’l hammier personally, (like in the games/cartoons/comic) but he was still kinda cool. I liked the E-series robot & badnik designs alot personally.

They were both shit. But even then, the Sonic one was better.

To me nether was better, both had there good things AND bad.  
Also ‘x was better than double rainboom’? You do know it would be a “<” in that case right?

I kinda liked the Sonic fan film, well, I liked Robotnik anyway, Sonic was kinda annoying. Then again I know jack about Sonic
