@Trickquestion
It would have been a much better episode if they actually focused on the supposed evil pony version of Sauron and cut out most of the comedic antics. That, and actually make Shining Armor and Cadence into something more than just plot devices.
@Niggoslav_Krawczyk
Your comment got two different tones… Although, I’d have to reread it to fully get the overall message, which I don’t want to do before bed, lol. :T
@Amber
It’s not really just the setting itself, but the fact that we’ve come to know throw past experience that when the setting is a school, and it’s rated under PG-13, executives seem to expect certain ‘notes’ to be hit in the script. There must be a prom scene. There must be tuxedos and dresses. One of the heroes must be a sports star, preferably both, but if not, then the other must be the ‘hot geek girl who myteriously nobody ever asks out despite being AAA model material herself,’ her rival must always be the queen bitch of the school, and so on as we’ve seen hundreds of times before. You’re only allowed to make the school pure background and not deal with school drama and omg this teacher assigns so muuuuuuch homework huuuuurgh if you’re going for a violent rating, such as The Faculty or Shibusen or if it just gets blow’d da fug up like in X-men Evolution. If a series is going to involve school, then WHOOPEE you get to watch celebrity kids actually get PAID to suffer the same bullshit you did for 8 more hours for FREE, YAAAAY
Agh, I’m not having fun anymore, therefore, I shall hit Derpibooru in the head with a stick. DX
(These random comments inserted within heated arguments do nothing to help anypony except myself. I apologize in advance if I… Aggravate by doing so. ^ . ^; )
@Lathius
He and the other baseless praisers are really reminding me of PeTArds with how accepting they are of views that run counter to any and all information we’ve received.
@Takashi.0
Apparently you haven’t been here long enough to realise the difference between me and Sid. I’m a true blue high-born fanatic. I won’t stop whatevering until one party is dead. And not a moment before! And in this instance, those parties are, people that think shit writing is good, people that think kids can’t handle ‘smarter things,’ and EqG fantards.
These past few days we’ve had those kinds of apologists in abundance!
@CyanHide
Yes, that’s exactly what I was trying to get at. Good, now that we’re past denial, we can work on the healing process.
@thps48
Everyone here knows about DBZ, and its a discussion on how this will break the mould, this behaviour is seen in teen drama movies just in a different form, it doesn’t break the mould but it does stress it a little.
