In the G5 speculation forum, there’s a BP (who, in there, has the hash value #DAFE) who acts as an intermediary and delivers stuff from someone who goes by the username mdash, who has access to stuff not publicly available yet.

Mdash also has a Derpibooru account, but they seem to mostly just post the screenshot from the upcoming TYT a week ahead of its release - and also sometimes comic covers.

Theres no relationship to improve, they arent mutuals with equal dynamics. Opaline is an abuser and Misty is a victim that has been gaslit and manipulated for her whole life.

It’s not even a betrayal, I mean Opaline merely uses Misty for her own benefit, and degrades her the rest of the time. There’s no trust to break there. Opaline doesn’t trust Misty, much less love her. Misty’s just a means to get what she wants.

Misty leaving Opaline wouldn’t be a betrayal, it would be rightfully cutting someone cruel and abusive from her life. Like don’t get me wrong, you’re allowed to wish for whatever you want, but that definitely seems to be the story G5’s trying to tell with them.

Honestly, in my opinion, it is too early.
I’d like Misty and Opaline’s relationship to improve rather than Misty betraying Opaline.

It’s not that early for Misty to leave Opaline’s side. She spent her whole life, plus Chapter 2 and 20+ Tell Your Tale episodes being mostly loyal to her, all of which Opaline has spent being horrible to her. I’d argue that they’ve taken longer than I would’ve expected them to, FiM would’ve rushed her story arc and wrapped it up already–
If they took any longer to wrap up this very obvious storyline it’d be to G5’s detriment tbh.

Also this is the THIRD time we’ve seen Misty with a new mane color. We also saw a toy and a page from a magazine with Misty having that purple-red ombre in her mane. I saw that’s enough times to assume Hasbro might be hinting at something.

Again, not likely. It’s still too early into the G5 series for that to happen.

Hate to disappoint you buddy but that’s just an official ‘Happy Easter!’ photo from Hasbro and it has nothing to do with the official ‘Make Your Mark’ Netflix episodes. Notice that Zipp has Bunny ears on the top of her head signaling that this is indeed just a ‘Happy Easter!’ photo.

Sorry, but Misty’s mane is going to stay the same color in the series as always.

That said, nail polish on men is actually super trendy nowadays, and even with men that are straight, so I’m not surprised Hasbro thinks that’s manlier nowadays than wearing a flower crown.

It’s possible it’s from a chapter after that, as according to mdash, Chapter 4 is done and has been so since about the end of January. From the wording of how the message was written, it sounds like Chapter 5 is currently in production, perhaps entering post, so it could be that.

I wouldn’t put it past Hasbro’s marketing team to just grab the latest render, even if it’s from something in the series proper that’s a ways off from release.

Then again, from when that toy released…

Honestly, I would have thought that these were from the Bridlewoodstock special that’s getting released as part of Chapter 4, but considering mdash has confirmed that Misty and Opaline don’t appear in that one it seems more just like a one-off thing.

I mean, it’s not that hard to believe, if the speculation, based on the toy, that Opaline stole Misty’s cutie mark turns out to be true.

Or yeah, it could be her dying her mane to make more of a break with her past.

That doesn’t invalidate that her mane color could’ve been changed with some sort of magic, even if the effect of the mane wasn’t the same.

Though the idea that Misty just dyed her mane (or Pipp dyed it for her) is still on the table.

and they cleverly covered misty left flank just to not spoil what her real cutie mark would be.
