This meme again? Really? It’s a shame there aren’t more thoughtful crossovers, because there actually are interesting parallels between the franchizes. In the movie, an idealized feminist society gets taken over by patriarchy, with women becoming little more than men’s mindless accessories. Well, G4 MLP went through something similar. It’s no secret Lauren Faust is a feminist and it shows in her work, from The Powerpuff Girls to DC Super Hero Girls. But something went wrong with G4 MLP. Originally devised as another girl-power series, her characters had been reduced into fapping fodder for furry/zoo perverts and assorted sperglords. Except unlike the Barbie movie, this has been going nonstop since 2011, with no ending in sight. Even today, about third of all newly posted equine porn on FA/Inkbunny/whatever is MLP-related.

Eh, but maybe the lack of such crossovers isn’t suprising after all. Even pervs don’t like to be reminded of… inconvenient truths.
