I tought quite the opposite, I was always thinking of ponytaurs as anthro with horse torso.
I’m browsing ponytaur tag I can see both pony and anthro centaurs (there are even eg versions 💀), so it seems like people are using it to generally describe ponyfied centaur (in one or other way).
But as I think more about it, using name ‘ponytaur’ for pony with six hooves makes more sense (and these creatures even weirder than anthro centaurs in their way xD)
Oh, I thought that a ponytaur is this, um… pony with six hooves, so to say, like this one👇
