Well, kudos, you were right for most of them.
You’re right, sorry. MMC just grinds my gears so much, I sometimes am a dick about it. Celestia was my favorite princess, and the way they handled her in the finale made me lose all respect for the production team. Since canon has now boiled down to “Whatever cliche Hasbro pulls out of their ass to make a quick buck”, I prefer to remember her as Momlestia, which is Bestlestia.
I’m sorry, that was too many memes in one sentence, I threw up in mouth a little XP
Maybe “supported by canon” might be the better way to put it.
Except it’s not canon…so shut up.
I don’t like her being Tyrantlestia, either. Which sucks that it was made canon.
Headcanon accepted, up until you pulled out a Tyrant Celestia-esque schtick.
Celestia seems to forgive any transgression if the offender apologizes, while Luna has a hair-trigger temper that causes her to cancel the country’s most popular holiday, so Celly gets Kindness.
Luna went crazy over the reputation of the night (and by extension, herself) for a thousand years, and after being put through hell for so long, she sacrifices her reputation just so a child can have fun for one night, so Luna gets Generosity.
Luna has a sort of blunt guilelessness, while Celestia probably hasn’t told the truth once in the whole series, so Luna gets Honesty.
Teaching takes considerably more skill than just learning something, and Luna doesn’t seem to have a handle on her magic, which fluctuates with her emotions and causes rubber spiders to animate and scare the bejeezus out of the whole town (which I’m reasonably certain is not what she wanted to happen) So Celestia gets magic.
Now, here’s where things get tricky: Luna has Loyalty. Yes, I know she betrayed the country and got thrown into an orbital prison for it, and Celestia seemingly held out a thousand years, waiting for her return… but once Luna is back, she’s quietly shuffled off to go-knows-where, and Celestia never speaks about her again. Ever.
In the grand scheme of things, Luna was just a pawn to her, a test to find the next Element of Magic. Even the pony who freed her sister is, herself, only a playing piece, as her friends around her are merely tools to improve Twilight’s station and advance her schemes. Celestia’s only loyalty is to her machinations: she willfully, knowingly and carelessly injured, endangered and ruined the lives of her most faithful subjects, whom she promptly dismissed the plight of, just because she deemed it necessary.
Now look at Luna: the reason she rebelled and went insane was because she wasn’t living up to the task set before her, which was to watch over the night. The ponies shunned her night for no apparent reason, and she felt she wasn’t just failing them, she was failing herself. Failing her special talent. It could be seen as a whole ‘Be true to yourself’ shtick gone horribly awry. But she always stuck by Celestia up to her rebellion, and, indeed, following her return.
Even during The Crystal Empire pt. 1, It’s obvious she can’t stomach looking at or talking to Twilight, knowing full well what Celestia has planned. She seems more somber and less jovial in each appearance thereafter, neither smiling nor speaking at Twilight’s (ugh) coronation. She supports her sister, right or wrong.
Luna lost the element of loyalty during her betrayal; Celestia could never have wielded it in the first place.
I’m liking her answers.
Luna: Generosity, Honesty, Kindness/Magic.
I can’t decide which of them would get Kindness and which Magic.
Probably because most people think it’s ridiculous she’ll only answer their season 1-related questions if they donate money to that cause.
Yeah, and one that sadly doesn’t seem very close to its goal with only a few hours left…
some ye, some do give ideas.
