I’m actually really banking on the “alternate universe” being the past. Twilight does something to establish a stable time loop that ensures Equestria’s foundation, and Celestia is the one that steals the crown.

But here’s what I want to know: if she’s going into an alternate universe with anthro versions of the other ponies, shouldn’t there be an anthro version of herself running around as well? And will she meet her doppelgänger at some point?
