Those sound very much like sources of stress he could plausibly have and rationalizations that he could make if he had an eating disorder.
I'm still not sold on making it fit his canon portrayal.

A terrible idea in summary can be a MASTERPEICE in execution.
For anyone who does not recognize the character, he is from the Hellboy movie and when I described him to a guy who has worked as an extra in big suit (for instance some sort of swamp monster or yeti in the "Goosebumps" movie) as an example of how to emote without the audience being able to see your face his response was something along the lines of "Yeah, that was really good. Character came across as like The Nutcracker gone bad..."
