I don’t think barcodes matter. “Derp” may be mentioned, but there is still no name. And, at least in the United States, it’s not canon.

Then again, I find it amusing that despite the fact that Hasbro edited her and took out her name, ever since “Derpygate”, they’ve marketed the fuck out of her. Pretty hypocritical, if you ask me.

No, it’s still canon. Receipt for HT’s vinyl toy reads Derpy, game code for the Tablet game refers to her as Derpy, her new card has Derp in it too, and multiple different languages still refer to her as Derpy in The Last Roundup. It’s definately canon

Also, her name is not canon anymore. All reruns of “The Last Roundup” are the edited version, and all products related to Derpy (like official trading cards, toys, IDW comics, etc.) do not show Derpy having a name. Therefore, since Hasbro wants to avoid controversy (since they don’t have balls), she will forever be a nameless background pony. And do I like the fact that her name isn’t canon anymore? No, I don’t. But that was more of a year ago, and it’s a cartoon, so I got over it pretty quickly. So my advice? Deal with it.

Why should it be deleted? It’s always good to see things from another perspective. It’s true “Derpy” could be construed as an offensive term, and we should respect others’ feelings when using the term.

Because most people simply don’t use it as a derogative term. 95% of people who call her “Derpy” use it as a term of endearment or a reference to her eyes. It doesn’t exactly have the best of implications, but most people don’t use it as a slur.

Just want to let everyone know that this NOT related to Derpygate.

When I think of Derpy, I think of her differently than what most of the fandom is thinking. My headcanon is that she is a very kind, funny, and intelligent girl, but is plagued due to shyness, social awkwardness, her eyes and her clumsiness, making her an outcast among her peers.
