Honestly, The Backrooms was a lot more interesting when it was about the familiar yet abstract spaces that seemed to go on endlessly, rather than just being another case of “Oh no, monsters”.

At least with the SCP Foundation, the anomalies are the main appeal that draws you into the world, there’s plenty of variety in the anomalies, and not all of them would or even could hurt you. Nearly all of the entities of the Backrooms just want to chase you down and kill you, which just flies in the face of the initial concept.
