This adorable helix-haired moppet is wearing a futuristic space jumpsuit that is designed to look good in zero gravity, whether upside down, right side up, or spinning (if, indeed, any of these concepts have any meaning at all in gravityless vacuum).

It's just one of the designs that was showcased on November 2nd at the University of Tokyo. The showcase was held by Rocketplane Kestler — one of the many space tourist agencies optimistically springing up and hoping to fly civilians into outerspace in this decade. It's part of the Hyper Space Couture Design Contest, which will help design rocketsuits for the fashionological cosmonauts of the future.

The designs don't just look good. The ruffles expand under weightless conditions for extra frouffiness. Likewise, small air-jet propulsion systems in the sleeves help turn you into Astroboy. I like the idea of outer space being entirely inhabited by adorable, fashion-conscious space pixies, don't you?
