I wouldn’t consider the plot to be child-like, but you be you.
Also, in the beginning G4 S1 and S2 were pretty simple as well. Over time it got more complex.

I must say, one of the best things about G5 going 3D is the ear twitching animation. I know G4 had plenty of ear twitches but it looks a lot more natural (and subtle) when it is animated in 3D.
I completely agree! I’m really not a fan of the lighting, static movements, and child-like plot, but I think G5 will improve over time. :)
