Maybe Batman would just ignore the criticism he got and would just be happy that the job was done, since he isn’t exactly supported by everyone anyway. And in the worst case scenario, Wayne Enterprises is home to its share of illegal weapons, so I don’t know what kinds of bars would be needed to keep him imprisoned.

If only they were like that more. Maybe Batman would be like that, though he wouldn’t interact with people much to begin with.
Do you think any superhero would be like, “I’m sorry, but would you rather have the town be destroyed? Because I can manage that easily.”? Perhaps Cat Woman would be like this if she played a more central role in things or maybe Gru would do this if he weren’t on the side of evil.

People: She destroyed the ocean and/or hurt the environment by creating garbage. What a terrible hero.
Childrens lives in my humble opinion are more valuble than some glitter in the ocean that can be cleaned out through collective effort. Just my humble subjective personal biased opinion though about the value of preserving life.
