Well food shortages were due to Russa so this was perhaps a bad thing to try and post. But we have spent as of May 31, 2023, the value of U.S. bilateral aid commitments to Ukraine represented 0.33 percent of donor GDP

Four Russian paratroopers captured 11 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporozhye region.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, having visited the Ukrainian capital a few weeks ago and met with the head of the Kiev regime Zelensky, today made a statement about Ukraine's alleged readiness for negotiations I see USA start singing to our tune. But we don t need negotiations we need capitulation. And court martial Ukr leaders. EU leaders< n US leaders too. Mr Bidon is preparing for the next elections. And he sell poor Zelia to us. I told Ya being freinds with USA is even more dangerous than being enemy. They all end up badly on all four. Nam Iraq< Afgan.

Looking at those maps. They need to get 10 more miles, in what is a heavily defended area. But that would end the war by Spring. Tomak is one of three keys that can unlock this win.

They have recovered their losses by capturing your tanks. Next time be nice and I won't have to spank you quite as hard ok?

Russia is not evacuating its casualties – ISW

The Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group Rusich has said Russian forces were not evacuating their wounded and dead personnel from frontline areas, and as a result, some Russian soldiers have refused to perform combat missions.

Source: Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

Details: The ISW reported that Russian military personnel continue to detail the ongoing challenges that hinder Russian operations on the battlefield in Ukraine.

The far-right irregular Russian paramilitary group Rusich issued a list on 8 September of various problems that it claims are constantly emerging on the contact line.

Specifically, Russia's counter-battery range and accuracy are poorer than Ukraine's, and Russian troops lack laser-guided Krasnopol projectiles and UAVs to guide them.

The Rusich group also claimed that Russia's Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket system is not as resistant to electronic warfare as Ukraine's HIMARS system provided by the US.

Furthermore, many Russian troops are purchasing their own communications equipment, complicating communication between different units.

Ukraine Says It Recaptured Black Sea Drilling Rigs Near Crimea

Ukraine says it has scored a victory in its battle to reclaim territory from Russia’s occupation with the recapture of the so-called Boiko Towers, a collection of oil and gas drilling platforms off the coast of Crimea, by its special forces. Russia had occupied the platforms since 2015 and had used them for military purposes since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine last February. The Ukrainian government said in a statement that GUR special forces had carried out a “unique operation to establish control over the Boiko Towers,” recapturing the Petro Godovanets and Ukraina drilling platforms and two floating drilling rigs. It said a Russian SU-30 had been damaged and forced to retreat during the battle and that Ukrainian forces had captured a stock of guided helicopter missiles as well as a radar system that can be used to track ships across the Black Sea.

Military intelligence: Calls from Russia to surrender hotline rise 70% after helicopter pilot defected

After news broke that a Russian helicopter pilot defected to Ukraine, calls to a hotline set up for Russian soldiers wanting to surrender to Ukraine's military increased by 70% in one day, Ukraine's Military Intelligence (HUR) spokesperson Andrii Yusov said on Sept. 11.

Launched in September 2022 by Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence, the 24-hour hotline, which is called 'I Want to Live' in Russian, helps Russians to surrender themselves or their units to the Ukrainian military.

Ukraine promises Russian military personnel that they will be held in compliance with the Geneva Conventions after surrender.

Maksim Kuzminov, 28-year-old Russian helicopter pilot, landed his Mi-8 helicopter at an airfield in Ukraine to give himself up to the authorities, Ukrainian media reported on Aug. 23.

He spoke at a press conference on the operation on Sept. 5 and explained that he defected because he "did not want to contribute" to the crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine, which he believes is a "wonderful country."

He said that he contacted the Ukrainian side on his own initiative, and was told he would receive security for himself and his family, payments, and new documents from Ukraine if he defected.

Kuzminov said that his parents supported his plans to defect and have joined him in Ukraine.

On Sept. 5, the HUR announced he would receive the hryvnia equivalent of $500,000 (approximately Hr 18.48 million) as a reward. Ukraine's parliament passed a law in April 2022 offering up to $1 million to Russian military personnel who manage to transfer equipment to Ukraine, depending on the type of equipment they hand over.

For anyone who doesn't understand why this will change things (like Ficxa 479). It will allow the Ukrainians to launch strikes at the railroad bridges from where they are right now. They can cut off supplies to the entire war effort of the Russians. Russians are tied to railways like Irqi was tied to roads in the first Gulf War. Yes, they can strike into Russa, which isn't bad. They can hit ammo bunkers, airfields, and CnC centers behind the current lines. Add this with the F-16 and I think we will see Russian losses skyrocket, and Ukraine can slow down and not put its troops in as much of harm's way as they do. Winter with no supplies will soften up the Russian soldiers well enough. I won't say it's game over, but I will say this will save a lot of Ukarian lives and its not going to be something the Russians want to see on the field.

    September 11, 2023 Update-ATACMS to Ukraine?

The possibility has been raised that the U.S. will send to Ukraine long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), which could be a game changer for Kyiv's goal of retaking Crimea, according to former U.S. General Ben Hodges.

Hodges said: "Crimea is the decisive terrain of this war, so isolating it and then making it untenable are the two necessary steps that lead to its liberation."

Various news sources have cited an unnamed U.S. official as saying that the weapons were coming. Another official said the system was on the table and likely to be included in an upcoming U.S. security package for Kyiv, although a final decision had not been made.

ATACMS have a range of up to 190 miles and would allow Ukrainian forces to reach targets much further away than rockets from the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and M270 multiple-launch rocket systems.

Hodges is a a retired Lieutenant General, was the former commanding general of the United States Army Europe. He has repeatedly called for Washington to provide Kyiv with long-range systems to enable it to retake Crimea, which Moscow seized in 2014. I completely agree with him.

The systems could be used to hit command and control, logistics hubs, especially ammunition facilities, and air bases anywhere in Crimea. Kyiv has said it wanted to recapture Crimea as part of its war aims.

Hodges wrote on X that if the if Germany agreed to provide its Taurus cruise missiles, "Ukraine will soon make Crimea untenable for Russian forces, especially Black Sea Fleet. Sevastopol, Saky, Dzankoy all easily within range."

Washington has held back providing ATACMS as it balances concerns about how to supply military assistance to Ukraine without escalating the conflict started by Moscow. However, the U.K. and France have sent their own comparable Storm Shadow missiles.

President Biden hinted in May that the prospect of Ukraine receiving ATACMS was still on the table.

In July, U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that Biden had spoken with his Ukrainian counterpart about providing the weapons and that "whether or not we ultimately give ATACMS will be a decision for the president."

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in August that Kyiv's forces would deploy long-range missiles, such as ATACMS, only within its own borders. That is a little unclear. They could be deployed in Ukraine but hit well into Russia.

It's just a matter of time before Russia is driven out of Ukraine. BUT it won't be this week or next month. Without allies, Putin will never be able to win. Unless of course the putin loving trumplican party cuts off aid. That may give our EU allies the excuse to do the same.

Which is why Putin is desperately just trying to hold on.

Three $500 FPV drones damaged a modernized T-90A valued around $4.5 million near Bakhmut, Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense said on September 11, 2023.Ukraine Ministry of Defense

    • Ukraine published a video on Monday that shows an attack on an advanced Russian T-90 tank.

    • The attack involved three off-the-shelf drones, which had explosives strapped to them, it said.

A video released by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense appears to show three $500 Ukrainian hobby drones chasing a $4.5 million Russian T-90 tank before blowing it up.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, which shared the footage of the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, said the operation was conducted by the country's 3rd Assault Brigade in the eastern city of Bakhmut.

The attack involved three First Person View (FPV) drones, which had explosives strapped to them, the ministry said.

FPVs are cheap hobby drones that Ukraine is re-inventing to take out Russian equipment. They cost around $500 each, the ministry said.

The one-minute-long footage shows two Ukrainian soldiers sitting in a room controlling the drones from afar. They strike the tank, which appears to be hiding behind trees, two times with the drones, prompting cheers.

But the tank, which appears to be on fire, still attempts a getaway as it races away from its original position.

"Guys, the tank is escaping. The tank is escaping," one of the men says in the video before a third drone strikes the tank, completely wiping it out.

Ukraine is relying heavily on amateur drones that can be armed with a makeshift warhead to severely damage expensive tanks and weapon systems worth millions of dollars.

Russia has suffered huge equipment losses during its invasion of Ukraine, with visually documented losses of over 2300 tanks, per open-source tracking website Oryx.

And with sanctions in place, Russia is unable to import the necessary high tech components needed in modern military equipment. So all Russia can do is keep using soviet era equipment. Which may be why the Russian air force has been mostly absent. Fighter jets are much more expensive than tanks and/or artillery.

No he is right on this. They do produce about 1/3 more weapons then before the war started. When he references 4x, he is talking about rounds for the AK. Which was true for almost six months. Then they started to have issues producing the case for the shells due to wear on the production lines. I follow their production center reports. They are stripping other assembly lines to keep these going.

Over 2 dozen Russian soldiers were killed in friendly fire near the Donetsk airport when their chaotic retreat was mistaken for an attack, Ukrainian MP says

    • A Ukraine MP said 27 Russian soldiers were killed by friendly fire during a botched retreat.

    • The soldiers were fleeing positions in Donetsk when they were mistaken for enemy troops, per the MP.

    • Ukrainian lawmaker, Yuriy Mysiagin said the Russians retreated "chaotically and almost in a panic."
At least 27 Russian soldiers in Donetsk attempting to retreat from their positions were killed by friendly fire from their comrades, according to a Ukrainian lawmaker.

Yuriy Mysiagin, a Ukrainian member of parliament, said in a Telegram message on September 10 that Russian fighters had "retreated to new positions chaotically and almost in a panic."

According to Mysiagin, the Russian forces assumed their troops were Ukrainians attempting to recapture territory near the Donetsk airport. The rushed exit caused the soldiers to endure friendly fire from their own artillery, Mysiagin added.

"The result was 27 dead and 34 wounded. Approximately half of the wounded had their arms or legs blown off," Mysiagin said. "Several pieces of equipment were lost."

Kostyantyn Mashovets, a colonel from Ukraine's armed forces, said in a September 10 Facebook post that the friendly fire likely kicked off because of poor coordination by the Russians.

"For some unknown reason, the enemy artillery began to fire, not near the front line or behind Ukrainian positions in order to suppress our firepower, but on the positions and rear of this unit," Mashovets said in his post, published on September 10.

Representatives for Russia's Ministry of Defense did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider sent outside regular business hours.

This wouldn't have been the first time Russian forces gunned down their own troops.

In August, a deputy battalion commander of Ukraine's 129th Territorial Defense Brigade told The New York Times that he saw Russian soldiers taking fire from their own side.

The soldier, who goes by the call sign Kherson, was fighting the Russians in the village of Neskuchne as part of the Ukraine's counteroffensive. Kherson said he saw Russian forces firing rockets at the battlefield just as their soldiers were starting to retreat.

"They buried quite a lot of their own guys," Kherson told The Times.
