Exactly, mlp is fiction. By their God that is their creators, they could’ve make better decisions fine. But in real life, that simply isn’t possible. Fiction and real life are two different things and those “hardcore fans” tend to blur the lines.

This is a fictional series, the way u think and operate on how things work in reality should be put a side a bit for stories such as this one, which aren’t grounded in reality.

You’re the one that assumed I’m an anarchist and think holding high ranking people to a standard that isn’t above the law is anarchy and dragged real life into it.

In the show they had dozens of choices and constantly chose the one over the many, risking thousands of lives to gild a single person or to save one person they care about with no regard for the others.

Discord is a prime example and he’d be rightly despised by the majority of the world at this point.

They had choices, and they made poor ones based purely on selfish desire, having previously made poor choices and now wanting to avoid the consequences of them.

In real life, the “No other Choice” excuse by those with power is more often then not patently false even when judged by the information of the time. It’s used to avoid acknowledging the actions of others for convenience.

Theres always a choice. Whether you choose to take the easy way out or not is an indication of ones merit, nothing else.

If somehow you became a president or something. You’ll learn the hard way of what ‘no other choice’ means. Sure there are better ways. But do you think the world would easily allow that?

You assume nepotism and corruption are deserving of sympathy when those doing it have none for others below them and actively ruin them for their own gain

Those with power are beholden to their people not their personal interest, a mistake made without knowledge or information is one thing.

Continually cheating the system, risking lives to have pleasure and opulence, risking innocent people and then getting bailed out without so much as a slap on the wrist?

That deserves nothing but disgust and considering the overwhelming majority of people in charge are not exactly good people to 99% of the world and only seek to better themselves I’m more concerned you think being nice to monsters and criminals like most politicians is a good thing.

I expect accountability and responsibility-a foreign concept to most in power and a large chunk of this fandom most of the time.

I didn’t care for Discord since the beginning. But it was A Matter of Principles that really made me despise him. Starlight had nothing against him and unlike the others, thought of him as a friend, without the bad history the others had with him. For no reason, he decides to torment her, insult her, and make her cry. These are not the actions of a redeemed character.

And none of them learned a single lesson and continued to get worse and endanger others or backtrack and make the same mistakes they refused to forgive others for.

You and The other guy have the same issue where you think lip service earns forgiveness, that the end result being fine for the small group of people that control things absolves the character of the harm done to the rest of the people involved and that covering ones tail because you know your powerful friends will bail you out instead of accepting the consequences of you’re actions is somehow admirable instead of a sign of corruption and frankly disgusting abuse of power.

Yeah, he cares so little about her he went for a centaur over her so I don’t think he cares at all. And really all his “friends” are just tolerating him because he is annoying when he gets sad. That’s all there is. He throws a childish baby tantrum when he doesn’t get what he wants and tries to dispose of anyone he doesn’t like. Of course they try to be nice to him. What else do you do to an obnoxious asshole who would make your life a living hell just because he feels insecure about something other than making it look like people care about him but in reality, no one does. He should feel lucky they don’t want to turn him back to stone because they’re better people than he is. He is just a tool for when things get bad, and he can’t even do that right, becoming Tirek’s little bitch, pretending to get hurt by Sombra, and letting the 3 people he summons to be his pawns play him like a fiddle instead.

But besides that neither of us see discord as a angel just that plenty of the fandom doesn’t get him. I understand the character.

Discord is explicitly based off of Q as a character courtesy of De Lancey intentionally styling his delivery off his previous work as Q in star trek.

They are both guilty of crimes that no other creature will be allowed to get away with purely because they say “sowwy” and have more power then the others involved.

Might does not make right nor justify you being treated like a demigod after literally endangering everyones lives.

How do I not understand Celestia?

She’s full of good intentions and mentors trust but Neither of those nor the tin tiara on her head justify her actions.

And you have nothing that excuses the reckless behavior that I will not retort to with:

I didn’t say it was ok i said its who he is. Despite who/what he is, he wants to be friends now, why would they abandon him for what he is, when they decided to befriend him a spirit of chaos in the first place without him asking. Imagine teaching someone how to experience sadness and once then walking out on them when they get sad.

Why does everyone always use this excuse? So it’s okay for him to hurt his so called friends just because he is chaotic? Is manipulating and making others worried, sad, or angry chaotic? He can survive without causing distress to others and manipulating others’ emotions like some toys. He’s not deserving of anyones trust, respect, sympathy or friendship if the best you can hope for is him doing nothing opposed to risking everyones lives and safety.

There best frankly isn’t impressive and theres a great deal of difference between between making a tough decision and:

Putting the nation at risk(or the world, again, Tidal Locked planets are borderline uninhabitable for a reason) to save ones sibling after gaslighting the only person who recognized the threat and praying that with 0 information they will find and activate ancient artifacts that also require them to make true friends in a 24-48 hour time frame with no plan B

1)Nope, not a tough decision, a stupid, selfish and frankly shortsighted gamble.

Putting a dangerous chaos entity that could reasonably break free because it’s a clear pattern that 1000+ years makes monsters due for a come back, in a public garden where everyone can visit-and by extension feeds said entity a steady trickle of chaos because life is chaotic.

2)Shortsighted, arrogant, and with again no plan should he ever reappear. Guess people live on borrowed time if they aren’t Alicorns.

Chrysalis is fair play as Celestia is not all knowing or able to see the future despite how much people want to treat her like a messiah.

3)However the utter uselessness of the Equestrian military is a sign Celestia has let them stagnate and relaxed training and general regulations to the point they and her by extension are a liability.

Celestia and Luna sent 6 civilians, albeit with grand “destiny’s”(everyone else be damned) to stop a centuries old dark mage that kept two supposed demigods on the back foot for years. Admittedly not to bad given context-until you realize Celestia once again withheld all pertinent information beyond a breadcrumb and used the lives of the Crystal Empire to test Twilight like they were as disposable as ants.

4)Selfish, cruel, manipulative and frankly shortsighted with no plan B again

She sent Discord to stop Tirek. Full stop.

5)Expecting someone undeserving of the trust to hold a butterknife and who is borderline being stockholmed to not stab you in the back while also, yet again, having no plan B or competent military.

Before we even hit six seasons we have a slew of gross negligence, reckless disregard for the lives of her people if not the entire world, no secondary planning to ensure that that was not an immediate concern and generally proving herself a subpar checkers player opposed to a grandmaster chess tactician.

Again, their best is sub par at best and their “tough decisions” were almost always unnecessary and only done because they wanted to use the worst methods possible to teach Twilight.

Luna has the entire dreamscape. Use that to test Twilight instead of the lives of thousands for a glorified Scantron test for God-hood.
