I prefer the interpretation of she’s smart but overbearingly bubbly like Elle Woods because she had to learn to laugh at her constant tumbles and crashes. Also if she does have a daughter THERE IS NO GODDAMN GRIMDARK REASON FOR NO DAD LIKE PLAGUE OR RAPE

You spelled “portrayed” wrong.

Based on this animation, if I had the opportunity to hang out with her, I wouldn’t do it. Based on how one-dimensional her character is fandom-wise, it seems the only things she cares about are muffins, mail, and her alleged daughter (who is probably only fed muffins). If Derpy had the choice to either save her daughter from certain death or get a free muffin, she’d probably take the muffin. Plus I don’t think I’d want to hang out with someone with kids who’s twice my age.
 
Also she wouldn’t talk about anything other than muffins, since that seems to be all she gives a fuck about.
 
I don’t hate Derpy at all (she’s too adorable to hate) but I don’t like the way she’s protrayed by people in the fandom: a mentally challenged girl who doesn’t have the ability to notice what’s going on around her, like she would be oblivious to the fact that she accidentally killed some guy’s wife in the process of trying to aquire a muffin (ironically, even though bronies say she’s clumsy, not retarded, in the fandom she’s protrayed as not very smart at all). I like to kinda think of her as a young girl who’s rather shy and socially awkward, but you discover that she has a silly, down-to-earth personality once she feels comfortable enough to be herself around someone. It’s just that some don’t take a chance around her because of her eyes, her awkwardness, and because she’s so mistake-prone. But even though she feels down at times, she’s kinda a fighter; despite her shortcomings, she keeps trying and never gives up. I also like to see her as intelligent (despite her derped eyes). She also has a bunch of pursuits, and while muffins may be among her favorite foods, she’s not obsessed with them, kinda like the fact that while you love your friends, family, or boyfriend/girlfriend deeply, you’re not obsessed about them, or like you love a certain thing/activity/interest, you aren’t exactly obsessed with them. I also see her fandom daughters as her sisters: Sparkler is the oldest, Derpy is the middle-child, and Dinky is the youngest, because I like to see her as young, around the Mane 6’s age. Just my two cents.
