I suppose it must be tempting to think yourself above everyone else when you’re, well, literally above everyone else.
drawing new backgrounds is hard
And this is supposed to be one of Equestria’s largest cities. Its layout never made any sense to me.
Then, like most other population centers in Equestria. We never had a chance to see much of it to accurately conceive a map of it. The writers and illustrators basically had free reign over the setting of these places. All because the show had a fundamental issue of being reluctant of showing anyplace outside of pOnYvIlLe.

I can understand why its inhabitants are so prideful and self-important. Living in a place that gorgeous will do that to ya.

The sight of Canterlot in the setting sun is awesome, as are all the little detail here.
