So is this the part where we end up circling back on the hypocrisy of adult ponies getting off the hook for serious crimes of Treason, Cultism, and slavery while a literal child whose only guilty of communicating with a known criminal and almost removing Magic is thrown into Hell; only to be later released by Discord with the intent on using her for Engineered Heroics: who ends up getting away with everything without suffering the consequences of his actions as he gets to decide the final punishment of criminals HE was responsible for bringing together in the first place?

Or is this the part where you argue about defending Celestia’s control freak tendencies by manipulating Twilight Sparkle into doing all of her dirty work for her that she was responsible for creating in the first place without once trying to make reparations or apologizing for her selfish actions and decisions, and is further fueled by Twilight Sparkles slavish adoration of Celestia whom she can never say a simple “No” to and feels that Celestia could never even do anything wrong that in-turn creates a negative feedback loop where both of them are blind to the possibility that they are becoming major assholes to everyone around them to the point where history is on the verge of repeating itself again as the leaders of the allied nations come to terms that nothing at all has even changed with Celestia and will automatically leave Equestria after noticing how Twilight is just as if not more terrible of a national leader that would result in the events that would bring about My Little Pony: A New Generation?

All the other shows you’ve listed (Star Vs aside) are aimed at tweens/teens.

Meanwhile, MLP FiM was specifically made to sell toys for girls ages 3+. I HIGHLY doubt Hasbro would want them to talk about that kind of stuff anyway.

Doesn’t mean that everything is going to be all sugary and nice in the show: as evidenced by how so many times the Heroes fail to do anything meaningful to fix the issues plaguing their world to instead have it be live-and-let-live along with evoking “Out of Sight, Out of Mind” only for it to bite them in their asses later on.

Plus there are plenty of other kids shows out there that manage to push the envelope of what a “Kids’ Show” is with enough nuance behind it to get the point across: Batman: The Animated Series, Generator Rex, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Vs. The Forces of Evil are prime examples of this as they treat their audience and viewers with the respect they deserve and don’t try to downplay or talk down to their audience in the slightest.

It’s not a page of “Fix” without the comments devolving into a hostile warzone. All over pastel horses. I wonder how the creator of this comic feels about this

A complaint on the concept of “friends in high places” as a moral being corrupt and callous is not the same as a complaint on Twilight becoming an alicorn.

If I wanted stories about people getting off scott free because of who they know and their rank in society I’d read the news and look at the ongoing state of most countries on the planet.

When compared to the show, they tackle far more ethical and moral quandaries one has to or it’s effectively placing no weight on the content of the work.

I am incredibly tired of the holier then thou, everything turns out fine or only marginally bad for the mane cast while someone else burns in fire for less mentality the fandom has, so I may come off aggressive but this is more abject disappointment that another work moves into that direction.

I just want to see one thing, fanfic or comic actually take the mane cast off those gilded pedestals and point at the different problems they’ve caused and basically turned a blind eye to avoid consequences for without accepting a half hearted “Sorry” as all they have to really give, while some other characters lucky to not rot away in a dungeon or worse.

I’ve followed so many fics and comics only to have them take a U-turn to put them back on top every single time the fan work is actually finished.

Or it’s torture porn, Conversion Bureau and edgelord wank. Which I’ll readily admit are three different things, but to a degree all edge into the same territory.

The show writers can’t read fan fics but before the season 9 finale aired everyone had hopes, and they somehow picked the worst possible combination of events because it was yet another relapse for Discord and so many other things that just made it bad.

And that was long before anyone made a fanfic or a fix for this situation, amd at this point this is all we have.

Not entirely. It wants to tackle topics that require some tact, I’m allowed to be disappointed when it drops the ball in the exact same way as 90% of the fandoms content of the same vein.

You can’t really hold the work of a fan to a higher esteem than the official product.

I mean no offense to any fan creators out there who put their heart into their projects, but at the end of the day, it’s never meant to affect how anyone views the original work (unless it’s one of THOSE fanfics).

Plus, the staff behind the official shows themselves aren’t legally allowed to read fanfiction or fancomics anyway, so…

No I’m not, it’s the hypocrisy of said characters in fan works. Which frankly are not aimed at 3 and up for a vast amount of said content.

There are thousands of ways the show could’ve handled it including just not letting Discord get a say in the final battle, that are well in line with the projected age range and themes of the show but didn’t.

Fan works that want to tackle more complex issues?

They get held to a higher standard.

Celestia put the entire country if not the entire planet at risk for her sister. No consequences.

She put the entire Crystal Empire at risk to guide Twilight. No consequences.

She routinely ignored any sane path of action to instead send Twilight after things to “teach her how to rule” despite only twice actively educating her on the general state of Equestria’s standing in the world.

She’s routinely picked and chose when the rules apply to better herself, her immediate relations and her student, while ignoring or actively going against what she even preaches as a higher power for her petty bias and need to put even one person over every living person in her empire.

Celestia’s a selfish politician, nothing more or less and “everything turned out fine” is basically “boys will be boys” level of ignorance.

She’s as dangerous and put the world at risk more then any of the three, but sure, lets have them be the judge of anything while everything in the show kisses the ground she walks on.

They literally did nothing wrong here, but ok.

And yet again I’ve watched something for years hoping someone would address the hypocrisy involved and it turns into “everything’s turned out fine so we don’t face consequences!” Moment for the main caste.

We have one major thing left and it’s probably not going do anything like that, most likely result is Celestia and Luna getting a slap on the wrist at the most extreme end as usual.

Just once I’d like something competently written and actually getting finished to do that instead of conversion bureau/torture porn epics.

Now for the continued holier then though speeches from people who had no problem using entire nations as bargaining chips or with the person using them to gild someone else’s destiny…
