Probably because Bridlewood and Maretime Bay have lousy cellphone reception. The towers probably don’t extend out much past Zephyr Heights proper.

That’s something I can give Pipp a lot of credit for: when she joins the others on their quest for the Crystals, she doesn’t retreat behind her phone once, or even complain about not using it.
