Happy Anniversary to what became one of my favorite shows in the last decade! I can definitely say MLP changed my life for the better in many ways, and I wanted to make at least one big tribute to it. And by big, I mean the amount of time, diligence, and detail this piece was given. If I’m being frankly honest, I went gung-ho when I first started it, managed to get the sketch, line art, and base coloring done all within a few days. However, once I got to the shading stage, I consistently got burnt out each time I tried to pick it up again. All in all, this took me over a year to complete, but I was determined to finish this at some point with no less detail and care than I would have given had I finished this sooner. Today was as good a day as any soooo…here it is, and I hope the end result is worth the looksee! My main goal was to have each of the girls’ personality subtly show through, mostly through their expressions and some of their postures, and I think I succeeded with at least that much.
