I do wonder about this regarding G4: yes pegasus had cities no one could get to and unicorns had magic but earth ponies seemed to be everywhere in the landscape of G4. Look at the first few seasons; there are so many earth pony towns to pegasus known one and unicorns just being around Canterlot with Celestia.

Ponyvile is the closet you get to the three races living together and who headed the town, an earth pony; how were things done, the earth pony way. Not to mention unicorns and pegasus heavily relied on earth ponies for their food; if the princesses took care of the moon and the sun and earth ponies could get around pegasus with the weather both by doing it themselves and using forces of nature like the Everfree forest then earth ponies held most of the cards outside the princesses both with what they could provide and sheer numbers.

But now Unicorns got their magic back, I’m wondering what situation will they be in the new series.

And yet they are all so much lesser then they once were and even after the movie they have a long way to go if they are to reclaim former glory.
