That’s what tvtropes claimed as well. It appears they reproduced by cloning or budding. So they look very identical. So these guys right here are like Balor I and Danu I or Balor II and Danu II.
Either way I’m calling the current iteration Knights of Order IV. In g5, they’re probably about the V or VII.

Yeah, that’s the thing, the knights arc feels incomplete. And seeing how Whitley writes Discord in his previous stories, if he actually made all those things, he writes a scene where Discord regrets about it, that happened in Discord/Luna’s story, that happened in Abyssian Arc and should have happened in here but nope.
Also, the flashbacks also says the princess meet the knights and were enemies but no more details about it.

That’s why I’m confused about whether these are the same Knights from back then, or different ones. Danu keeps referencing “our ruler” but, well, he’s king of Cunabula. At least he is so now.

That is for sure because the entire season 10 itself was a chaotic creative process full of delays. For himself, even Whitley admits that he had to modify too many things to make it look good there, just keeping the main ideas.
Why he did not deny it, more than anything it was because of the rhythm of the story that could not be expanded to be very clear in order to finish it, and in itself, Discord was not there when Danu told the story and nobody questioned him if it What Danu said was true or false.
And if Discord was responsible, why write the knights don’t even know his name like if they never made an interaction with Discord? Why even calls him a “myth” instead of a formidable enemy from the past? and why putting many flashbacks besides the first one?

I know his usual modus operandi is turning creatures against each other but it’s kinda strange how the knights references him like if they actually never meet Discord in face and only they are telling what they believe it’s the truft.

There’s one thing I don’t quite understand yet. These Knights, are they the ancestors of the current ones? Who look exactly like them?

Eh… the knights’ story feels so cutted at the point it’s easy to think Discord didn’t start anything and actually the knights are bad persons, but it’s so cutted at the point it’s so ambiguous.

I bet Discord showed them the truth of how Knights buried their Trees with their powers in the future, making a self-fulfilling prophecy. He did a similar thing in s02 with AJ.
