The whole right-left brain dominance isn’t really a thing. While some functions are lateralized more to one side, there is no evidence to suggest this has an effect on personality. Logic and creativity are not mutually exclusive. Furthermore we use both sides of our brain equally and do in fact use 100% of our brain. Just not all at once. (Edit, I didn’t read properly and wasn’t aware this was acknowledged)
Anyway on to the subject of mathematics, some do pick it up easier than others. There are a number (heh) of reasons why, be it genetics or cognitive ability, to educational environment, to even one’s bond and experiences in upbringing. On that note, read to and with your children from a young age, that will contribute to their ability to read and speak.

Which is odd, since I do understand and like math and also enjoy visual arts a lot as well as cool stories. Though admittedly I’m not usually fond of poetry, which might explain why I like instrumental music a lot of the time.
 
Plus, some tests scored me as pretty even in my left and right brain sides.

Some people just derive their hatred of math from how hard it is to understand. Others understand it so well that they integrate with the concepts fairly quickly. It results in a divide in opinions on mathematics. I guess if more artistically-inclined, i.e. right-brained individuals could subtract their negative emotional experiences with math from the reality of math, then we could see an exponential rise in the general opinion of mathematics. :>
