Luna and Sombra had just arrived on the island that afternoon. “And you two may NOT come off until you’ve rested up and had some fun,” Celestia had said as their boat pulled out of the harbor. Two weeks. That was how long their honeymoon would be. Two weeks on their magical island with only each other for company. Not that the newlyweds minded that. The moment they had unloaded and the boat had left, they had walked all the way around the small island. It wasn’t very big, with their comfortable and well-decorated hut being the only building on it.They had come back to the house at sundown, and, after a quick dinner, they were both ready for a rest. While Sombra was finishing up the dishes, Luna strolled into the large master bedroom. The HUGE round bed in the center had a curtain all the way around it, the opening facing the giant (and by giant I mean almost-entire-wall) window, which had a ledge along the bottom with silk cushions (basically a long window seat). Various furniture of different shapes and sizes was scattered around the room, most of which, Luna noted, looked like Saddle Arabian furniture, consisting of cushions, rugs, and drapery. She climbed onto the bed and laid down on the soft blankets. She sighed.“Did I hear somepony sigh?” Sombra asked, peeking his head through the curtain door. Luna smiled.“It was a sigh of pleasure, not boredom, silly,” she replied. Sombra walked over to the bed and hopped up, laying down next to her.“Good. I’d hate to think you were bored on the first day.” He looked out the giant window at the ocean. The moon was out, casting it’s silver light down on the water. The stars twinkled around it, reminding him of his wife’s hair. He turned to her. “So…How’s my wife holding up?” She blinked at him a little confused.“What do you mean?” she asked, cocking her head to one side.“Well…” Sombra began, “It’s just that all that wedding and honeymoon planning, the actual wedding, then the packing and traveling has been all mashed together lately.” He smiled a bit. “Just wondering how you’re doing.” They smiled at each other for a moment. “And I just wanted to hear myself call you ‘wife’.” Luna punched him lightly on the shoulder.“Of course you did, husband,” she laughed. They giggled a bit, watching the waves on the beach below catch the moonlight. The moon was so bright that the only other light besides the light from the window was a large fireplace at the other end of the bedroom. Luna sighed again. “It’s so … peaceful … compared to the palace.”“Heh,” Sombra chuckled. “You can say that again. No papers, no jousting practice…”“…No royal duties, no diplomacy meetings, no fencing practice…” Luna continued.“…and no other ponies to tell us what to do,” Sombra finished, sidling closer to her on the bed. Luna glanced at him in surprise.“Feeling restless, little school colt?” she joked.“Just a tad.” He lit his horn up and let a sphere of soft yellow light float above them. “Now I can at least see your beautiful eyes.” Luna blushed little.“You’ve certainly learned how to treat a girl,” she admitted with a smile. “Even when Tia’s not around,” she noted.“Yep,” Sombra grinned, pulling the curtain closed. “We’re alone at last.”
WOW. It has been FOREVER! since I last posted a LunaxSombra…or, you know…anything. So, yes, they’re on their honeymoon, and it’s on a tiny tropical island. 😁I decided to ditch the shadows and just try some glow and gentle shadows. I like how it came out, but I’ll probably stick with the normas shading style I use for the other Honeymoon pics.Hope ya’ll like it!*NEXT: coming soon!PREVIOUS:
