i don’t actualy think it is…last i checked the one thing the soldiers of the imperium of man WERE allowed to pick (especially the space marine core) was the cosmetic details of there armor and weapons
logic there likely being these soldiers are going to spend about 99.9 percent of the remainder of there life in this armor…its probly best they like wearing it, its also not like most of them will ever make it back from the front line anyway…and those that do will have acheived such legendary status that nobody is going to question there fasion sense

Actually it does state in the story that it’s off an Imperator.
Not sure what weapon it was though as I’ve only ever played that mission once myself.
The nearest in design is the Hellstorm Cannon,(you were correct with the name), which is pretty much 6 Baneblade main guns strapped together in a chaingun arrangement. Whereas in the game said weapon is clearly a laser weapon. (So more likely Volcano Cannons- the Shadowsword tank’s main armament).
Yeah, I remember it, a good old Hellstorm Cannon. I think it was a part of a Warlord titan, not even the biggest one.
i think i was thinking of the emporer class, the kind that would have the cannon you fight over in the warhamer dawn of war game mounted on its arm (Cant remember if its one or 2)
edit: if you’ve never played the game, the cannon is about the length the empire state building is talll maybe more by comparison ot the soldiers around it and fires a beam when provided enough power that could probly give the death star a run for its credits

There are 66 Titan Legions in Collegia Titanica.
There are only like two rare models of titans which blueprints might or might not be lost - Emperor class and Psy titan.
Pretty sure there’s thousands of Knight class titans around in 40k.
They used to be built to assist with building settlements back in the “Dark Age of Technology”, (hence the brackets and things scattered about the chassis for attaching ropes), then repurposed to act for defence of the colony. Many hundreds of years and they’ve basically turned in to what we see today.
As for bigger titans, the Mechanicus can build several classes, but they take a long time to build. Warhounds are fairly common.
Reaver titans are less so.
The Warlord class are the most common big titan, and the Imperator class are rare. Typically a Titan Legion will only have one. Big legions may have more, but even Legio Mortis (which went traitor in the Heresy), could only boast 4 Emperor class Titans.
