Eh, not really. I wasn’t reading fanfic material from FimFiction 10 years ago, as I wasn’t in the brony fandom back then. I guess it would make me feel old, however, if I were watching MLP from the very beginning and seeing the fandom at its peak. Instead, I came in at the end of S6, when the fandom was on the decline and interest in ponies was waning. So no, the fact that everything brony-related is coming on 10 years doesn’t make me feel old at all. Rather, it makes me sad that I didn’t get to see the fandom at its best, way back in 2012.

I remember doing that too!

Not old, but I appreciate the site nonetheless.

I remember when pony fanfics were distributed as links to Pastebins, Google Docs, Fanfiction.net and even AO3 sometimes. Some of the earliest fanfics I still have saved are in fact PDF exports from Google Docs.
 
I once watched live as someone was writing the next chapter of their fic in Google Docs (IIRC they handed out a link on Ponychan and essentially invited everyone there, there were 3-4 other people watching it with me).
 
It didn’t happen overnight, but slowly FimFic made all those redundant. I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen a pony fanfic in pastebin or Google Docs. It’s always FimFic.

Not at all. I got into MLP late, about 4 years ago, so I wasn’t around for over half of it.

I think the fact that all the consoles I grew up playing before buying one with my own paycheck are considered “retro gaming” makes me feel old.  
I think the fact that the Disney animated movies I grew up watching were closer to the moon landing than the present day makes me feel old.  
The fact that the most recent copy of a Godzilla movie I purchased prior to quarantine is old enough to have a child in first grade makes me feel old.

But then I remember I’m still a few years away from the big 4-Oh, making me younger than the In-famous El Guapo! And that makes me feel better.

No no not really, honestly folks need to stop worrying about how old certain things are and just enjoy them.

I was into the idea of the show 2 years before it came out because of my friends on the inside… so it all makes me feel old!
