Heard about that. Ford had intestinal problems and couldn’t do a full sword fight for that scene. So they just went with shooting the guy.
They were scripted to have a full fight scene, but Harrison Ford was one of several people on the crew who’d gotten dysentery during filming and he wasn’t feeling up to the scripted scene.
