I just saw that panel. Are those buttons? How high up is this place? I know this is obviously where the pegasi live and it’s very high up in the sky, but geez that’s one long elevator ride.
No, it’s not a reboot. They confirmed last month it’s in the same universe as G4.
“With the movie, we started development and made the decision to expand the world of My Little Pony, rather than starting from scratch with a total brand reinvention,” Thompson says. “We found ourselves with this whole decade of storytelling and really rich lore, and it felt wrong to walk away from all of that.”

Is this set in the same continuity as Friendship is Magic or is this a reboot which is the next continuity and generation and incarnation of My Little Pony?
@GoodVibesGorgeous
part of me is thinking they’ll go for voice actors for the main cast but use celebrities for the one-off special appearances but I could be wrong
there’s a wide talent pool these days, it all depends on whether they stick with Canadians or go for LA/NY voices - or hell, go for all three and make it one big voiceover pool
@whatever4096
That’s the most important stuff I’m looking forward: The voice casts. Who are the celebrities in the movie? Who are the less expensive soundalikes who will replace them in the series?

The animation looks appealing, but we have yet to hear their voices, or know their stories, or see how they’ll interact with each other. Hopefully, they know what they’re doing, but some badly-cast voices or terrible writing can ruin it pretty quick.
@Mellow Rhythm
That’s entirely possible, especially considering how the overall synopsis said the tribes don’t trust each other. It could, however, simply be an improvised Pokey McStabby preventative. ;)
