Typical me, when I had no idea what I draw, what to draw, how to draw, which to draw… inspiration leaved me, and even if I have drawn all night long all inspiration are wash away at morning.
P.s Fine to say, but this is typical stereotype of an artist, that they just has got exhausted drawing too long, or vice versa too small… Being an artist not easy…
Pps maybe I’m not an artist afterall
P.p.p.s. I will not give up!

@Conversed Corruption
that’s fair, and thanks
Your art looks like it’s at the level of an artist to me. An artist doesn’t mean draw the best piece of work ever made. Illustrating is from your own talent and the inspiration you recieve to make it happen. Everyone is a sort of artist in their own way. That’s why I love diversity in the art world so much. Seeing all kinds of styles, talent, and skill being put forth in myriads of ways. You may not think you’re an artist which is fine, but you’re already progressing up from what I saw.

You drawing good! You are an artist
I once referred to myself as “not an artist, but a drawer”, still do to this day, I don’t see myself as an “artist”, it sounds too fancy for the shitty cartoonish garbage i make sometimes lol, but that’s just me maybe
oh, I dunno about mental problems. I just meant how “the brain” works, which might be different from how “your brain” works.
sorry if you have to exhaust yourself to draw stuff. you’re pretty good at it.
I drawing since my childhood, so its hobby from very long. But even then it is more my mental problems that I can’t afford. And I try to show it by drawing some art.
That makes more sense. However, try using your words better next time because you literally made it sound like people that have already mastered being an artist out there are not artist. That was my point. Of course people starting out aren’t artist yet. They’re still learning and growing. It’s not an easy road. Actually art is infinite and the amount of skills, tactics, tools, etc you can grasp is unlimited so even skilled artist are still learning.

so at what point can I call myself an artist? one picture? two pictures?
there is no point, there is always something to improve, and nobody should ever feel bad if they don’t feel like an artist. because artists are just people, who draw a lot.
if it makes you feel better, you can also say that everyone is an artist.
@DreamySkies
have you ever had a song stuck in your head? have you ever noticed that the harder you try not to think about it, the harder it is not to think about it? your skill will start to melt, yes, but your sensitivity will also increase. then when you go back to it, your skill will un-melt super fast. that is how the brain works. you have to balance dedicated practice with time out to let your brain recover. if you feel desensitized to your art (aka no inspiration) then you’re practicing too much.
and the worst thing to do is fear. if someone told you that your skill will melt if you don’t keep practicing, that anxiety will wreck your brain faster than just drawing stuff. so go ahead and let your skill “melt.” you don’t have to be afraid of it. just see how much you can push yourself, try to find out how much practice is best for you, and if that’s less than 3 hours a day, then you are still doing a good job. and if you’re not worried about it, then you will be able to practice for longer than if you are.
or maybe I’m wrong idk. my problems with art have nothing to do with not practicing enough.
That….is the reason why I’m not both a commissioner nor someone who undertakes request, stress and time. I tried it once and the amount of request I’ve received back in 2018 was already overwhelming to the point I had to say stop. Some of them were NSFW which is a territory I don’t really do aside from some nudity. I only do pseudo-request that involve around mainly my ideas that gives people a chance to see at least something I like to draw. Commissions are different though since it’s the requester paying the artist to see their works displayed. Request can be denied, but commisions are different since it involves money and deadlines. Anyone can ask you for the weirdest things they want to see which can lead to regret for taking it on or stress build-up to get it done in enough time. Don’t ever stress yourself over commisions. Take your time and work patiently.

Anyway, you see, when you have commissions you cannot relax and don’t push on yourself to finish art. Because it is a debt
A lot of artist can end up in a rut when looking for inspiration so he is right about that. Don’t push yourself when you’re trying to draw something. Gotta be both inspired and motivated to do it. I do that aften and my drawings usually come out like trash.
As far as the “nobody’s an artist” bit I’m really hoping he meant that wrong cause that makes absolutely no sense. It presents a title for those undertaking something like chefs are cooks and teachers teach. With that logic might as well call the President of the US “someone who leads America” or athletes “people that play sports.”

I dont get his point actually. Yeah. I could be a whiner, whine and whine and whine, why I’m so bad at art, but still drawing. Words “nobody’s artists” sounds weird. Any person who can create and be creative is artist, at least I think so. Artists see world a bit different from others, they think of more things and try to realize it how they can…
To learn how to draw stuff need to draw EVERY day, at least 3 hours per day. If I just will take my time my current skill slowly start to melt! Then I will get even worse, because I will forgot something that already know. Our brain works so. If we will just relax it - it becomes more lazy. More lazier and lazier. We learn stuff mostly when we come out from our “relax shell” that brain don’t like very much! So, in other word, if artist want to keep a progress in drawing he/she doesn’t need to relax too much, and continue to draw in the near time, only that way, neither else. It’s always hard to work. Because our brain always feels stress, like, for example, - when people’s just awakening their brain don’t want to, it want to relax a little bit more, it don’t want to awake, so it is already stress for brain. When we go to work, we mostly don’t want to go, because our brain resists it. Any work is hard. Doesn’t matter what’s the work. When we work we keep our brain works, and mostly it don’t like it. That’s why laziness is the problem. Especially for drawing, it’s just a dead-end to learning new stuff. Also. Inspiration not always comes when you want to draw, Inspiration is the idea for art, it is not so necessary to start drawing to get an Inspiration. I’ve got many Inspiration outside of my house, when I not nearly was at drawing. It is all depends on the situation.
Cause you say so right? So what are people called that illustrate their art? Drawers?
when you can allow yourself to draw, you’ll find inspiration. when you must force yourself to draw, you will not.
