when she became an alicorn, her cutie mark appeared in the sky, correct? check the number of stars on her actual cutie mark, and in the symbol that floats down from the sky.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

I really think it would have been better if the “swapped cutie marks” plot was the whole episode and we get left with the elements vaporizing Twilight until S4.

I totally agree. My only complain would be that this scene feels like “The End”. If they have ended FIM with that…perfect. Even if this would have meant that Season 3 was the last one.

It was a feels scene, but it shouldn’t have ended in the way it did :-(
 
They should have walked into the light while Celestia was singing and then credits roll. The best way to end it all.
