Personally, I like Sunset Phoenix better. But whatever…

She has been the main character for EqG the whole time.  
Twilight was just the conduit in which we were introduced to her with.  
EqG = Her rise and fall with power.  
RR = Her treading new territory. By the end, finds her place among her new friends.  
FG = We get to see her use her newly aquired and earned powers for good, rather than for selfish reasons. And she’s determined to show everyone she’s changed.
 
 
The whole thing is a reference to the life cycle of a phoenix:  
EqG = Her selfish desires burn her to ash from within, “destroying” her old self.  
RR = Her ashes stir and begin to flame again, kindled with hope and guarded by her friends. By the end, she bursts into a roaring fire, confidence in herself reborn anew, ready to see life with a new set of “eyes”  
FG = We’ll get to see the new Sunset in all her glory, spreading her new wings for the first time.
