Apparently people are saying that Luna’s dress was colored horribly. This is what I think is more unified. What I mostly did was change the red-violet to something more blue and changed gold to silver. I don’t have any vector tools (or photoshop) so I changed the colors using GIMP, a raster editor.
Original vector found here: http://strelok-2.deviantart.com/art/Luna-s-Dress-updated-354702487
Also, not sure if I wanna put my artist tag on this.

Yeah, okay, it’s much better.
When people start getting into the professional world of art (not that I’m at that level), well, it takes artistic knowledge to be able to produce something of professional quality to begin with. I would imagine that not everyone can be a professional in art. The coloring job with Luna’s dress is not the best example of professional-quality work.
There are a handful of guidelines from color theory which presumably a well-read artist should be familiar with, but I won’t take the time to mention every line of thinking I used. It takes time to type it all out.
Art can supposedly be all subjective, but if you have plenty of people talking about how poorly colored Luna’s dress is (especially if not purposeful like Babs Seed or Rarity’s dress in Magic Duel), there’s a potential problem.
GO GO GO!
HIT THE TARGETS!
So? What’s wrong with that? It’s not like its covered with glitter and lipstick and dolls.
Interestingly, enough animators were wise enough to not give too much pink to a number of characters. Much of the mane six doesn’t have pink dresses at all.
Not sure how presumably art-educated animators end up coloring a dress like that though. Hopefully, it was a mistake that came from time constraints so there wasn’t time for perfectionism.
IT WASN’T PINK
Oh yeah I forgot. It’s not the stereotypical pink princess dress
Design is good. Just the color looks contrasting. It’s fine if you like it, though!
Lolcaps
Watch out guise, shit’s gettin’ sirius over here.
What doesn’t look fine to you? o.O
Well, other people do not.
I wonder why that name is so fami-
OH GOD THE NOSTALGIA! IT BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURNS!
