I liked this movie quite a bit. Sure the pacing as a little off, the Shadow 5 were largely ignored, and Cinch I find to be a throwaway antagonist, but the characterization given to Sunset and human Twi was fantastic. I honestly believe human Twilight has better motivated than her pony counterpart.

Never really got statements like these. Anime isn’t a genre, it isn’t really even a medium. It’s the combined animation works of a whole nation. It’s statistically impossible that none of it has appeal to you, cause it’s far too broad a thing.

OOORRR they can make the portal 2-ways and actually establish contact between the two worlds. This doesn’t have to be some zero-sum game. Also, the human world isn’t all that mundane from a Pony perspective. Technology, a solar system that takes care of it’s own orbits, human history, human entertainment, quite a bit for a Pony to like here.
Why do I get the feeling the ending to the Season 5 finale will be like this?
If it is, I won’t protest.
But then, Starlight is a completely different case. Human Twi was mislead, pressured, and unsure, then corrupted by magic. While Starlight absolutely knew what she was doing and was not interested in hearing reason.
