Description
This is the Top 10 Rankings for the Challenge version of the MLP minigame Balloon Poppers. In the challenge version of Balloon Poppers, the pony will have a balloon attached to their back, and must pop the balloons from his/her opponents. They have to win 100 rounds without being hit. After Round 20, the opponent will find a chance to attack the player. Every time you defeat a wave of 10 opponents, a message will appear on the screen.
The record for this minigame in the challenge version is set by Big Macintosh, with a score of 20 balloons popped.

Balloon Fight was released as an arcade title in 1984 and an NES title in 1986.
The Balloon Fighter goes around the stage trying to pop enemies’ balloons without getting his popped, getting zapped, or falling into the water below.
To pop the balloons, the fighter must land his feet on top of the enemy’s balloon. The goal is to have the enemies fall in the water… if they land on a platform they’ll pump another balloon and start going after you if you don’t stomp on them.
So it appears that you have found the rules of the minigame very similar to the rules from Nintendo’s Balloon Fight, though I’m not sure if it is an inspiration of that game. I’m also not aware of that Nintendo game.

If I did ever plan on having Twilight Sparkle ranking 1st again, then Big Macintosh wouldn’t be as tough as he thought.

Unfortunately, Pokey Pierce would be a standard or an advanced type, so I’m not sure if I’m ever going to include him as a master or an expert, since most of the background ponies are beginners, standards, or advanced types.
