I remember when he was originally going to make a third Flumpty game a while back(That one he cancelled due to various problems). He changed his mind due to an email Scott Cawthon sent to him about the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative(Something Scott is planning with several fan-game creators to get their games on multiple platforms).
 
Scott told him he could make a third ONAF game if he wanted to. With that in mind he decided to. It’s not out yet, because I think he wants to wait for the multi-platform release.

They did get better. The later games had a lot more build-up to their jumpscares, and I do like a lot about those games. Like, I don’t want to sound like I was bashing them. You know though, in a weird way I actually preferred the gameplay in One Night at Flumpty’s 2 to FNAF: it was less jumpscary and more building up :D

I remember watching a lot of people getting caught off guard by Foxy. I’ve also just remembered One Night at Flumpty’s.

I was wondering If starlight glimmer might be caught in Sunset Shimmer Surprise hug attack?

Totally. Like, I think it would have been a hundred times creepier if instead of the jump scare the thing silently rose up in front of you all slow-like and just reached for your face, which of course would black out the screen and have some sound effects of like scuffling and a muffled voice, then cut to the static. The only one that should have the leaping entrance into the room is the fox because you actually see him coming ahead of time on the camera :P

The fact that the jumpscares in FNAF are a form of game over punishment doesn’t help.

Exactly, dude. I think a horror movie needs one or two really good jumpscares, and one or two really gory kills. The Romero zombies movies are really good for that. Then they’re overdone it ruins it for me, like I actually would have really liked the FNAF series if they didn’t have all the jumpscares :D

I’ve only seen clips of the Saw movies. I find gore to be a shock value thing. Like jumpscares, best used sparingly.

Totally. Jumpscares just aren’t scary, like they just make you feel awful for like a split second and then nothing. Gore just isn’t scary to me, like at all. I don’t even consider movies like Saw to be horror, because they’re all gore and there’s nothing really all that scary about them :P

Yeah, jumpscares and gore only go so far. If a game relies a lot on jumpscares(Like the FNAF series), players eventually get used to them and the only thing it really does is frustrate them because they have to start over.
