I’ll also point out that pederasts and drugs seem to exist in Equestria (regarding drugs, it’s more that if it’s a Walter White expy… they’re probably not the greatest person, to say nothing of the prospect of a Rick Sanchez, if this is a version of him native to Equestria, as opposed to visiting), going off of these ponified references (former [“pederast”] being from The Big Lebowski)… in the same setting that mind control exists in, and it’s shown in say, the Movie that the lands outside Equestria can be rather… crappy (literally selling body parts, anyone, considering how he asked Twilight if she’s selling her horn? ). It’s not like there was anyone to stop Chrysalis, or the Storm King from doing their thing, before they came by Equestria.
It’s also apparent that they decided that something better than bows needed to exist, so crossbows are a thing.
Really, it seems more likely that the Equestria we see on the show is generally more sanitized than what it might actually be, in part due to the focus on a backwater town like Ponyville, aside from the rating. Equestrians can be assholes in general (like how you mentioned Suri Polomare), powerful unicorns aren’t exactly always stable, and we know that genuinely sociopathic ponies exist, if the likes of Lightning Dust are any indication, even before you get into major villains.
They can grasp the concept of “war,” in any case.

There are magical laser blasts, spears, swords, knives, (possibly canons) and other things that can kill you.
They have armed guards/soldiers, and armies in MLP too. And of course their problems are solved instantly, they only have 22-minutes to tell a story.
How do we know? A kid’s show isn’t allowed to show murder, but it’s been confirmed ponies can die, and as I pointed out bad ponies do exist, and monsters that kill a pony no problem.
Not always, all it took was 3 villains to screw up that harmony easily.
Their history does show that racism/specism does exist, and they used to not get along. Not to mention, some ponies were rude to Fluttershy, and tried to overcharge her, and there’s been ponies whom steal, (like the one that stole Rarity’s designs) or swindle others, (the Flim Flam Brothers) or do bad things to others. (Sombra enslaved an entire race of ponies.)
So, frankly not all ponies live in harmony constantly, and don’t always get along, nor are all kind.

Yes there have been Ursa Minor attacks and Lord Tirek in Equestria. But in the human world there have probably been bear attacks in several towns and there have been terrorist attacks. There are no guns in Equestria and instead there’s magic but the magic of friendship can stop a villainous threat. But in the human world we have to use up soldiers to win a war and it’s not in an instant. Yes Equestria does have similar problems as we do but they’re worse in our world. There are barely any murders and barely any CO2 emissions in Equestria because the ponies are friendly and they barely pollute. Your point about Equestria being worse doesn’t stand, based on what I’ve said the human world is probably the more dangerous place and yes Equestria is not a perfect utopia but it’s more harmonious. Now I’m done as this argument is over.
Which is technically a fate worse than death.
I also thought I should use an example from the earlier seasons In case Somebody tried pulling the new Writers card
And one that can make you sick, and turn you into a tree.
And giant land eels that could eat a volkswagon.

They Have plant that can alter your body based entirely on what is funny
@DarkyBoode32
Yeah, frankly having your village get semi-regularly attacked by the villain/monster of the week (like say, a giant bear, or a demon centaur) is worse then being required to wear a face mask to the store. And who’s to say they don’t face similar problems as us, especially after I listed several examples of that?
I think some fans romanticize Equestria too much, it’s not a paradise.

They face things even worse
I know that but there are dangerous creatures living in our world too. There’s rarely any of the problems that humanity faces too.
She was bullied by Diamond Tiara, and Silver Spoon remember? So bullies, and bad ponies/people exist in Equestria too. (As well as ponies that swindle others, or steal others’ clothing designs, and such.)
Not to mention, monsters, and other unpleasant things as I said. It’s not a utopia.

@trickynicky
I dunno, some good characters get treated like crap too.
Does that mean Applebloom is “bad?” Or what about others being afraid of Zecora?
Equestria is not a utopia free from bullies, or good people being treated ufairly. In fact, given all the pony-eating monsters, eldritch abominations, cursed flowers/artifacts of doom, and such, It might actually be worse living there.

I’m on your side.
I like her, though unlike most Cozy fans, I can accept that she’s a villain.

Starlight: I mind controlled everyone one time and nobody forgets it. And it was for friendship homework, so really its Twilight’s fault.
Starlight, get off the computer.
