Writers often place furry as a “metagenre” with the fact that any genre can fit as “furry” if there’s anthropomorphic characters. That being said, there must be a reason that the characters are anthropomorphic in the first place.
Sapient animals are by definition anthropomorphic, but you can like strictly anthro stuff and still be a furry, or like ponies without liking other furry-related media.
The problem is “furry” is roughly as broad a term as “geek”. Its not so much a fandom as it is a subculture or maybe even just a sub-genre.

if someone says different, it’s just because he is furry on start, and try make others like him. I don’t like people who are trying force they ideology on others.
Even 4chan know dat. Deal with it.
Also, furries are people who obsess over animal heads on human bodies. Ponies do not fall under that category.
There’s so many things wrong with this…

This does not make them a furry.
