I think Hasbro wants customers, not fans.

Hasbro didn’t care much before, because the fandom wasn’t nearly as big (or more importantly, making as much money) as it is now. So expect them to start C&Ding everything left and right (including more fan animations, even stuff like Picture Perfect Pony) and taking the episodes off of YouTube.
 
Yes, they have the right to C&D whatever they want that they hold the rights to, but doing it now is an extreme dick move.

Hasbro could have very well lost their rights to the MLP Franchise.

As I understand it, if you want to keep a copyright, you have to protect it. There’s a limit to how much stuff Hasbro can turn a blind eye to.
