@Toxicpinkiepie
You can look at this guys other uploads and see that he doesn’t actually believe in god. He’s just trolling. He even has a duck badge, what more do you want.
@Beau Skunky
It’ll still be perfect even if Twilight isn’t there, because 100% of what makes people like her as a character will be there but in a way that’s far beyond anything in our current reality. So even if it’s just in a metaphorical sense, it will be like she’s there, because all desires will be fulfilled beyond what a mortal could ever conceive of. I believe that God will give us the ultimate happiness that lies behind what we think we humans think we want. If that includes living cartoon characters or not is up to him. :)
@UserAccount
I don’t know if that includes fictional worlds, and stuff, (and we don’t even know for sure if A.U.s exist, though some believe the afterlife is sort’ve like an alternative dimension, or beyond this current existence, or something, which is why you can’t find Heaven in outer-space, and such) but if you like to think so, and it makes you happy, then you’re free to believe it.
Just don’t be too disapointed if you don’t meet Twilight Sparkle in the hereafter, (so I wouldn’t “preach” about that, if I were you) but you’ll probably still have her entertainment stories.
@BakedBeans
I wasn’t trolling, everything I said about the translation of the New Testament is accurate. God is infinite, so when he brings all things together into Heavenly perfection, that may include even the fictional worlds and alternate universes and everything else conceivable, plus so much more beyond what anyone can even imagine. The Kingdom of God will be beyond what we can think of now, so it will probably be like every cool and good thing ever!!!
@BakedBeans
Sounds like it, if he is doing that. (I was mostly responding to those bashing faith, so I didn’t see if he was saying that.) There was another guy recently trying to prove Equestria was real, or something. Wonder if they’re the same person.
Why is it always atheists & religious have to fight?
Also, guys, while I understand you don’t like preachy religious images, (frankly, there are worse things) can you can kinda ease up on the “lol God doznt exst, religon iz bad/st00pid” attitude? As a christian myself, seeing so many people here crap on my faith, and on people like myself really makes me feel uncomfortable, and unwelcome here on Derpibooru.
Sense the media tends to make fun of the religious, or because there’s fanatics out there, (atheist fanaticism exists too, I’ve experienced both trying to convert me, and such) it seems easy for you guys to forget some of your fellow bronies are people of faith too, so please show a li’l respect. (Especially, because I always see bronies demand respect, and don’t want to be hated for liking a kid show.)
Or the TLDR version: Bashing different religions/faiths from your own don’t win you Brownie points. I don’t crap on other faiths, or atheists here, after all… So let’s all stop fighting, and try to get along.
@UserAccount
Dude, I love fantasy stories too but I think you’re a little too involved in that fandom. There are a lot of other stories that are written a lot better and are WAY more fun to read. I suggest branching out a bit, I think you’ll have a better time.
Also, just so everyone knows, I am not trying to insult anyone who disagrees with me and I respect all of you. I just made this image to celebrate the concept of redemption for all. :)
@Silverstorm
That is not what the actual Bible says at all. Every single verse about Hell is clearly metaphorical and even in the metaphors, the Greek does not use the word “eternal” to describe it. An accurate translation of every single description of Hell is a lot more like “of The Age” and it is very clearly talking about a limited period of time.
What is very clear in an accurate translation of the New Testament, like David Bentley Hart’s (also check out his book on this very subject matter, That All Shall Be Saved), is that God is here to save everyone. Even in the translation of the verse that I used for this image, it very clearly says that God wants all to be saved. I believe God gets what he wants.
Moreover, the amount of verses in the Bible that very clearly say that everyone will be saved (“Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess” for example) far outnumber the very few verses that could be misunderstood as saying that anyone will sent to a place of eternal torture.
Paul very clearly talks about people being “Saved by the fire” and going to be with God afterwards. As for what the literal meaning of this is, I am not sure, but I’m also not convinced it will be an actual torturous experience. People who are unwilling to follow the way of love here on Earth have pain in them that must be removed before they can be with God. I imagine that whatever Paul was talking about would be something that evil people may reject at first but will be very happy about once it’s happened. Like someone with trauma inside of them being forced to go to therapy and crying before their life is turned around for the better.
The idea of God you’re describing is a very prevalent one, though. I’m not denying that what you’re saying is an accurate refutation of Calvinism, but I believe in the Christianity that Christ actually preached.
Hypothetically, Cozy could eventually get a second chance with Twilight, but there are no second chances with God (after his forgiveness expiration date).
The difference is that there’s no arbitrary point where Twilight becomes permanently unwilling to forgive someone after an disclosed date. Also she actively offers people forgiveness in person rather than expecting them , is willing to overlook crimes like not worshiping her, not believing she exists or being born, and also she doesn’t need to perform blood sacrifices in order to forgive someone. She can just do it! Just like that, no assistance needed. Super forgiveness powers.
@BakedBeans
Twilight didn’t forgive Cozy, Chrysalis or Tirek. God would’ve and he might even combine our universe with the MLP universe just so he can personally forgive them.
@Silverstorm
She’s much more forgiving, and also a lot cuter. They’re so different that the only thing they have in common is that neither of them exist
@BakedBeans
I know, I just said maybe. Our time could be up tomorrow, or it could be a billion years from now. All that matters in the present is that God is with us, so we don’t have to worry no matter what. :)
