Frankly I would have preferred this over Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain. Twilight is a more likeable and Intelligent character. And given her magic, I could see some pretty creative situations that these 3 could get into.

I merely used the term “True Brony” responding to the other gentlemen’s use of “True Brony”. I also said “I imagine a true brony”, not “A TRUE BRONY IS…” I will concede that the episode hasn’t aired yet, but you should concede the fact that not everyone who is concerned is a whiny child, and that things should in fact be held to a standard instead of always just “accepting it”. Tell me, if it does turn out to be a terrible move, would you still find an excuse to say it was good? Or try to pull up the other good elements to eschew the big blatant bad?

But we don’t KNOW if this is a bad decision because the episode hasn’t shown yet. And be careful about making assumptions as to what a “True” brony would do, since once you get into your head that there’s only one true way to do something you risk falling into the No True Scotsman logical fallacy when people don’t fit into your expectations.

Way to live up to the Love and Tolerance Mantra calling dismissing concerns as childish whining. I imagine a true Brony may not freak out severely, but would definitely call changes that may be bad out when they see them. Someone who really cares about something is generally concerned when it drastically changes. If you just accept everything with a smile, even bad decisions, it gives them the excuse to make more terrible decisions because people will just kiss up and say it’s brilliant anyway. You have to hold things that you care about up to a standard.

People are going to bitch regardless and some wish to play “white knight” to the show beyond some faults found. Capcom of late, has been truly critized by fans while some others are telling them to quit “whining”.
 
If the writers did plan this in the beginning, I would take the show as it comes; if it’s due to executive meddling: given the track record of Real Ghostbusters to Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters; Pinky and the Brain to Elmera, Pinky and the Brain; Gargoyles to Goalith Cronicles. Confidence on the show will wane.
 
I’ll take the show as it comes, will still be fan even if the show drops the ball this season. If anything seasons one and two had a good run and leave it at that.

To be honest, all I see are a bunch of whining children. Honestly, if you call yourself a true brony and not even attempt to give this a chance, then you don’t deserve the title. Not only that, but you’re making a big deal out of nothing. It’s like crying over someone taking the last bottle of milk in the store. And if twilight’s going to be an alicorn, then let her be an alicorn. The show doesn’t always have to revolve around the bronies just because a bunch of you guys This is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, created and owned by Hasbro. Not The Brony Show, created by Hasbro and owned by the bronies.

How I wish this could be comparable to Larry, but instead we have Elmyra. Guess I just need to have faith in the writing staff this time around, huh?

Please, big Real Ghostbusters fan here and while Elmera Pinky and the Brain was awful, it didn’t match up to changing Real Ghostbusters to Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters (that and the wrongness of the Goalith Cronicles from Gargoyles).

Yes. Never ever compare Alicorn Twilight to Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain. Giving a beloved main character wings is nowhere near as bad as forcing a character no one liked on a good show.
