STORY
Queen Majesty was once a common unicorn pony who had a talent in writing and always had her quill that she held since her fillyhood. Her life was all about writing and she loved to write stories of adventures and tales of ponies and their accomplishments. She lived in the early days of the recently-founded Equestria, which was just a conglomeration of city-states. One day, her village and neighboring towns were attacked by a malevolent entity called Ghroth, commanding an army of unspeakable horrors to lay scourge upon the land. Ghroth had the power to make mortal beings turn against each other and to influence evil into their minds. Equestria at the time was not completely unified as a single composition, giving Ghroth an advantage to influence the bloods of civil war. With more lands falling to the darkness, earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns were losing faith in each other in the days before Equestria’s foundations, but the mare did not lose trust in others as she continued to write with her quill messages and stories to hopefully convince everypony to restore their faith in each other. Her words eventually reach a young talented sorcerer Star Swirl and he offered to help her reach the message to unite everypony as one to combat Ghroth’s growing threat.
Then, a miracle happened spectacularly. The mare’s quill became enchanted and she was transformed into a tall slim powerful double-winged alicorn. With the magic of her quill, she was able to give the ponies of Equestria enough power temporarily to combat the forces of the Ghroth. Eventually, the alicorn and her forces drove away the horrors plaguing their homes and she ultimately defeated Ghroth using the Sealing Symbol, imprisoning the unworldly abomination into the depths of Tartarus where it would never bring harm again. Celebrating victory, the ponies of Equestria praised the alicorn as their hero. She promised to solidify the citizens’ faith and light in each other by establishing a central kingdom as their ruler and queen. From then on, the Kingdom of Equestria was officially declared and the hero mare became known as Queen Majesty. Star Swirl, who helped the mare save the land, became her court magician and would become the mentor of her children.
Her selfless, loving and heroic actions would eventually attract the attention of another alicorn… King Cosmos.
Her relic is her large enchanted quill that makes anything she writes come to life.
NOTE:
I understand that in the show, there are only six Pillars of Equestria. But all this will be in My Little Pony: Revelations of the Apocalypse where it takes place in the Twirageous Saga semi-AU where the point of divergence is around late-Season 3. In this story, there are ten Pillars this time, adding Queen Majesty, King Cosmos, King Grover and Dai Shen Long.
Also, I’m a bit disappointed that we don’t get an appearance or a hint of Princess Celestia and Luna’s parents in Season 7, given the Celestia and Luna’s fully-settled sisterhood in A Royal Problem, the sense of parenthood in The Perfect Pear and the fact that the sisters were young and mentored by Star Swirl. I just hope that we would have a certainty of a hint of the sisters’ parents, the Queen and King, or even better their appearance or flashback, perhaps in Season 8.
