For those of you curious about the contents of the article, but not willing to take the plunge behind it, a synopsis:
“Hey, guys, look at these incredibly easy targets for vitriol. Clearly they’re all screwed in the head, because here’s some porn/fringe group material/a fanfiction that I can’t be assed to read, but I’m gonna pass judgement on anyway, and since so many people hate them, it’ll be funny.”
Alternate, less harsh assessment: “My boss demanded I turn something in, so I did six minutes of quick research for lowest common denominator material on Youtube and Rule34 and squeezed out a half-baked article on it.”
You know…I used to go to cracked for humor…. but now its been very preachy and almost no humor…. Politics politics bitch bitch bitch….I thought this article would be funny, you know poke fun at us like the leaked Brony doc…but I was wrong. I love to make fun of us and our love of mlp with good humor…but this wasn’t funny or even worth reading…cracked is really starting to be really disappointing me lately…
It’s insulting to think that this poorly written travesty of an article got published in the first place. I mean come on there’s barely a full page of text. If you’re going to attack a popular fan base, why would you do it so half-heartedly? Cracked tends to have higher standards than this, but every few weeks or so they let a real shitty one through the cracks (no pun intended).
Shrug, this was surprisingly bearable compared to what they usually produce.
I’ll never forget the article they did on national athems, and the amount of historical inaccuracies in that one, the wars they claimed did not even happen, etcetra.
In fact, if you want to learn about the Top X things in ANY topic, the absolute worst place to go is Cracked. The same result can be achieved by 10 mins of Googling.
(Which I assume how they make them in the first place.)
I guess it’s funny if you like reading cheeky (if not very clever) rants.
i hear poorly written a lot and sometimes wonder what they mean by that
are talking about the words and how they were used and the story construction and how it was put together?
or is it the spelling and grammar errors, because i’ll readily admit to being a bad speller and poor typist. i’m sure there’s mistakes here. i just type and think too fast to see what i’m doing and i’ll leave out strings of words in a sentence by accident.
i shouldn’t even be allowed near keyboard.
i do miss writing. it was fun. oh well
Like any newspaper, TV news station, etc. They will post what will get them the most attention. They don’t care about spreading happy stories, they want people to look at them and the best way to do this with nasty and weird shit.
@gg666
Because the children’s show with the grown men with the porn and everything.
@bboifatz
Completely agree.
As some dude said somewhere, “If you’re going to write a book as long as War and Peace, at least make sure it’s as good as War and Peace.”
/Prefer Dostoevsky and Chekhov
While all of the works cited in that article make our fandom look kind of shitty, is any other fandom any better? Have any of you heard the Dirty Potter audio books?

It’s all kinds of phoned in.
This isn’t trolling, this is news (and not very nice news).
I have, I love micspamming that shit in Source games and watching everyone look at me funny.
I visit it often, but it can be depressing or offensive at times.
But otherwise, it can be very informative for weird stuff, which I like.
I don’t see the “pedos” thing, but, my point in any case is that this shouldn’t be a surprise. :/

Eh, it was a facetious comment, the contempt thing.
I think he got that.
But why does that make all of use deserving of their contempt?

why?
@gg666: The problem with FO:E is not that it’s a crossover– the problem is that it’s longer than War and Peace, and it’s shit.
