Miley Cyrus Is 'Super in Sync' with Boyfriend Maxx Morando — Inside Their 'Healthy' Relationship: Sources (Exclusive)

Miley Cyrus has found her match in boyfriend Maxx Morando.

The “Flowers” singer, 31, “has a great life” with Morando, 26, a source tells PEOPLE, noting that the pair are “very in sync” three years into their relationship.

“He calms her down. She thrives with him,” the insider says. “She finds him talented and inspiring. They have a lot of fun together.”

Cyrus and the Liily drummer were first romantically linked in late 2021, and she previously revealed that they met after being set up on a blind date.

Morando worked on two tracks off her most recent album, Endless Summer Vacation, and Cyrus recently revealed in an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR that her beau has also produced several songs on her upcoming ninth album, tentatively titled Something Beautiful, and cowrote the title track.

“She’s super happy and grounded with her boyfriend. It’s a healthy, good relationship,” a second source says of the pair. “They stay in a lot and are very low-key. They’ll sometimes go out for date nights in their neighborhood. They’re very normal.”

Cyrus opened up about their relationship to Harper’s BAZAAR, admitting that because Morando is a few years younger, he “looks at life differently” than she does.

“He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters,” she said. “Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.’”

Cyrus did, however, say they’re “very similar” people, and praised his music taste as she said they both “don’t take life too seriously.”

The star is currently hard at work in the studio putting together Something Beautiful, which she said was inspired by Pink Floyd’s 1982 surrealist film The Wall.

Cyrus — who thanked Morando from the stage when she won record of the year at the 2024 Grammys, calling him “my love” — gushed over the chance to work with him on the new album.

“I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love,” she said. “And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
