Hmm…..well, back in Smash for 3DS, there were enemies in Smash Run that are weak to fire and can flinch easily when hit by a fire attack. There are also Primary Spirits that do have the drawback of having a fire weakness and Support Spirits that nullify lava floors and provide fire resistance at the same time.  
For Sunny, most fire attacks won’t make her flinch when she’s at low percents. So if Ness, Bowser, Charizard, Robin, etc were to start off with their fire specials, Sunset would run through them without flinching and deliver her dash-A.
 
If you want to go pro-elitist, it would be Omega forms of Animal Crossing stages. (In which I have NO IDEA why it has to be those levels that are allowed when every Omega form is the same!) But any Omega stage would do the trick, along with no items. Personally, I like to be the guy who triggers everybody by playing with the normal versions of each stage along with every item turned on but on low. So if you want to see Twilight and Sunset show how strong they’ve become while also throwing in some Super Scopes, Beam Swords and Mr. Saturns, then you’re in for quite an interesting match.

Ah, I see. But, I guess now I can ask: does stuff like fire-damage really mean much? I know it’s a thing, but how much effect does it ever have in a game?
 
Well, what’s the highest level of play? Competitive?

Well you are talking to a Ness player so he was used in mind when thinking of Twilight. Pretty much all the unicorns and alicorns have some sort of long range special that can be used to their advantage. What I’ve come up with for Sunset’s unique trait is that she has moderate resistance to fire attacks.
 
Twilight’s forward B can be spammed like Fox’s blaster but can also be charged up. Maybe Sunset can have something similar but with fire-based damage. As for Starlight, not sure.
 
Oh right, what level are Twilight and Sunset playing on? I have five MLP-themed levels in mind if we’re keeping the theme but they could be on the actual SSB levels. I’m also taking Battlefield and Omega forms as well.

I was trying to imply that Twilight is basically Mario and Sunset is essentially Ness. (I haven’t played Smash in a while, so don’t know if Ness’s aerial game is good or if people just spam his forward air for gimmicky kills, lol. I watch, but haven’y played.)
 
So if you’ve got any better ideas for their movesets, I’m all ears. XD

Sunset has better aerials even though she doesn’t have wings? And I have Twilight with as good long range specials. I bet Twilight’s forward smash is as good as Sunset’s up smash.  
Also, Sunny’s final smash involves her turning into Daydream Shimmer as she also summons the Humane Six to power up her attack.

My money’s on Twilight. Good neutral game, good aerials, and good ranger for her killing grabs.
