There’s no objective evidence for or against either side of this conversation because magic is not real and doesn’t have defined rules.
 
But it’s funny to apply some simplified logic to it as a fun thought experiment.

…but how would that make any sense, even considering that it’s magic?
 
They don’t seem to get any cold feedback from lifting several hundred pounds of snow or heat feedback from a scroll that is getting breathed on by Spike, nor is there transference of momentum when lifting/throwing/catching multiple tons of material.

It’s hard to say, as the show never addressed that, though it has shown a heavier object is more difficult to lift for amateur unicorns.

I’ve always assumed unicorn levitation comes with feedback. A unicorn tries to levitate a hot object, she’ll feel burned. Try to levitate a short-circuit, and she’ll get shocked.
